Privacy policy

Last updated: October 29, 2026

Cameratico is an independent website about color management, monitor calibration and photography gear, published by Fabio Pili Palacios. If you have any question about this policy or about your data, write to [email protected].

We wrote this policy to be short and readable. Cameratico has no user accounts, no comments, no advertising, no affiliate links and no newsletter. We collect as little as we can, and we never sell or rent information about our readers.

1. What we collect and why

Visitor statistics. We use Plausible Analytics to see which articles are read and how people find them. Plausible doesn't use cookies and doesn't track you across other websites. For each visit it records the page address, the referring website, your browser, operating system and device type, and an approximate location (country, region and city) derived from your IP address. Your IP address is only used to compute that location and an anonymous visitor count that resets every day; it is never stored. We only see aggregated numbers, never information about an individual reader.

Emails you send us. If you write to us, we receive your email address, your name if you include it, and whatever you choose to tell us. We only use this to reply to you.

Technical data needed to deliver the website. Like any website, our hosting provider receives your IP address and basic request information (such as the page requested and your browser) so it can send the page to you and protect the website from abuse. See section 4 for details.

2. When we share information

We don't sell, trade or rent personal information. We only share it:

  • with the service providers listed in this policy, and only as needed for them to run their part of the website;
  • when the law requires it, for example to answer a valid legal request from a public authority;
  • when it's needed to protect the website, its readers or ourselves against fraud, abuse or security threats.

3. How long we keep it

  • Visitor statistics are kept in aggregated form, which doesn't identify anyone, for as long as we use Plausible.
  • Emails are kept for as long as the conversation needs, and deleted on request.
  • Request logs kept by our hosting provider are handled according to its own policy, linked below.

4. Where the website runs and how it's protected

Cameratico is a static website: there's no database or login system that could expose reader information. Every page is served over an encrypted HTTPS connection.

  • Hosting: the website, including its images and fonts, is hosted on Cloudflare Pages, by Cloudflare, Inc.
  • Analytics: Plausible Analytics, operated by Plausible Insights OÜ in Estonia, with data stored in the European Union.

Our articles link to other websites, such as manufacturers and software projects. Once you follow a link, that website's own privacy policy applies.

5. Your rights

Depending on where you live, laws such as the European Union's GDPR and Brazil's LGPD give you the right to know what personal data we hold about you, to get a copy, to have it corrected or deleted, and to object to how we use it. To exercise any of these rights, email us and we'll answer within 30 days. You can also file a complaint with your local data protection authority, or with the ANPD in Brazil.

Cameratico isn't directed at children, and we don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 13.

6. Cookies

Cookies are small files a website can save in your browser to remember you between visits. Cameratico doesn't use any cookies, and doesn't store anything else in your browser either. That's why you won't see a cookie banner here.

7. Changes to this policy

If the way we handle information changes, we'll update this page and the date at the top. For any question, write to [email protected].
